The following user types are able to add events to the SOCS Calendar:
- Editors
- Approvers
- Publishers
Single events or a recurring events can be added by selecting the Add single event or Add recurring event buttons in the left-hand menu.
Adding a Single Event
To add a single event in the SOCS Calendar, follow these steps:
Step 1
Login to SOCS Calendar
Step 2
Select +Add Event button
Step 3
Complete the Event form.
When creating a single event in the SOCS Calendar ensure you enter the minimum required information denoted by the red asterisk. The required information is:
- Event Title
- Start date & time
- End date & time for single events
- Select a category for the event (tick at least one box on the list of calendar categories displayed in the grey box on the right-hand side of the screen).
In addition, you are able to add further information to the calendar event including:
• Description (400-character limit)
• Location and Location Map
• Event Link (you are able to add URL and a URL title)
• Notes (internal only, not published).
Adding a Recurring Event
To add a recurring event in the SOCS Calendar, follow these steps:

Login to SOCS Calendar
Step 2
Select +Add Recurring Event button
Step 3
Complete the Event form. When creating a recurring event in the SOCS Calendar ensure you enter the minimum required information denoted by the red asterisk. The required information is:
- Event Title
- Start date & time
- End date & time for single events
- Select a category for the event (tick at least one box on the list of calendar categories displayed in the grey box on the right-hand side of the screen).
In addition, you are able to add further information to the calendar event including:
• Description (400-character limit)
• Location and Location Map
• Event Link (you are able to add URL and a URL title)
• Notes (internal only, not published).
Step 4
Setup the recurrence pattern
The recurrence pattern can be selected by ticking either DAILY/ WEEKLY/BI-WEEKLY options under the Recurrence Pattern section on Event Form.
