What is a Music Session?
A music session are specific attributes that are pinned to a specific music teacher. These include:
- Instrument
- Title
- Duration
- Location
- Cost
A music teacher can have more than one session added to them if they offer lessons for a range of instruments, duration and costs.
When sessions are added to music teachers they are then available to select when scheduling lessons for that music teacher.
Adding Sessions
To add Music Sessions, follow these steps:
Step 1
Login to SOCS Music
Step 2
Select Music Teacher Sessions in the left-hand menu
Step 3
Select Sessions alongside the relevant teacher
Step 4
Complete the Session Editor with the relevant information
Step 5
Click Save
If no sessions are added to a teacher, lessons can still be added to them and the lesson scheduler will create their session list automatically based on the details of lessons that are added.
Session Costs in More Detail
A session has 2 costs associated with it.
- The cost for the school is the amount that the school must pay the teacher for the type of lesson.
- The cost for the pupil is the amount that the pupil must pay the school for the type of lesson.
Who can add costs and see costs?
Only “Main” users can see and edit the “Cost for School” field.
When a “Normal” user (e.g. a Music Teacher) is adding or editing lessons, they can only see and edit the cost for the pupil.
These costs are used in billing reports for Music Teachers and Pupils, so if any costs are “£0.00” when looking at reports later on, the correct amounts can be added in by a “Main” user.
