This page details the sign-up rules in SOCS Co-curricular.

Click here to return to Setting Rules for the Pupil Sign-Up Window

Allowing pupils/parents to add themselves to activities

If this box is ticked then pupils are able to sign up to an activity when the sign-up window is open. If this box is not ticked, only staff are able to allocate pupils into clubs.

Allowing pupils/parents to remove themselves from activities

If this box is ticked, pupils can remove themselves from an activity. If this rule is not applied, only staff are able to remove pupils from clubs. Even if this is ticked, once the sign-up window closes they will no longer be able to remove themselves from the club. They can only remove themselves whilst the window is open.

Setting a maximum number of activities a pupil can add themselves to

Select the maximum number of clubs pupils are allowed to sign up to. Once a pupil has signed up to the maximum number of clubs, they will no longer be able to add themselves to any further clubs. Pupils can see that a maximum number has been set. If you set the maximum to "2" but then set the total number of clubs per category (see below) to higher than "2", this will prevent a pupil from adding themselves to any more than 2 clubs.

Specify date and time range for sign-up window

A date and time can be specified for when the sign-up window opens and closes. Pupils aren’t able to make any changes outside of this.

Year Group Rules

  • Pupils from "included" year groups below will be able to sign up to activity clubs in the pupil/parent login area.
  • Pupils from year groups which are not "included" will still be able to login and see available activities, but will not be able to add themselves to activities. This allows you to switch on sign-up for selected year groups only.
  • You can overwrite the sign-up dates and times in the "General Rules" above for specific year groups. Do this by ticking the "Use custom date/time settings" box for that year group, and then set the necessary values.
  • If you have not specified sign-up dates and times in the "General Rules" above, you can still set specific dates and times for year groups below.

Activity Club Categories

  • Categories which are not selected below will not appear in the activity list in the pupil/parent login area.
  • This allows you to switch on sign-up for selected categories only and hide certain categories from view.
  • Selecting 'View Only' will allow pupils/parents to view clubs within the category without being able to sign-up to the clubs.
  • Categories with no active clubs for the selected term will also not be visible in the pupil/parent login area.
  • You can set the maximum number of activities per pupil within each category. If this is set to "No limit", pupils can still only sign up to the maximum number of activities set in the "General Settings" above. The "Maximum activities per pupil" setting in the "General Settings" above will still apply unless it is set to "No limit".
