Task 2 - Set up Facility Categories

To set up categories for your facilities, follow these steps:


Step 1:

Login to SOCS Facilities


Step 2:

Select Settings in the left-hand menu


Step 3

Select Category List and the +Add Facilities Category button


Step 4: 

Click Add Category, give it a name, and save.


Examples of categories are Sports Equipment, Catering, AV/IT, Marketing, Security & Access, etc


Step 5: Build your digital booking form for each category:

  1. Questions – e.g. “Have you completed a Risk Assessment?”
  2. Answer types – multiple choice, text boxes, checklists, etc.
  3. Resources – any extra items (e.g. projector, sports kit) that can be reserved alongside the room.
  4. Approvers – assign who needs to sign off on this category (you’ll add more users once available).
  5. Module visibility – choose which module(s) (Sport, Co-Curricular, Facilities) this category applies to.


Step 4:

Assign an approver to the category (if required) by selecting the Users button.
