Follow these steps to schedule single and fixed music lessons efficiently using the timetable editor:
Step 1
Login to SOCS Music
Step 2
Select Lesson Scheduler in the left-hand menu
Step 3
Select the correct term, teacher and pupil from the dropdown menus
Step 4 - Select the Lesson Slot
- Hover your mouse around the timetable editor.
- A dark grey lesson slot will follow the cursor. The size of the slot reflects the lesson duration set in the lesson editor (yellow bar).
- Click on the timetable to populate the lesson editor. The dark grey slot will turn orange and become static, and the date and time will be added to the lesson editor.
Step 5 - Adjust the Lesson Time
- To move the lesson slot, click again on the timetable, or manually change the date and time in the yellow lesson editor bar. (Note: manually changing the time won’t move the slot on the timetable.)
Step 3 - Choose the Session Type
- In the yellow lesson editor bar, select the lesson "Session" type. These are the available lesson types for the selected teacher.
- If no sessions are listed, select “New Session” to create one.
- After filling in the session options and adding the lesson, the new session will be added for future use.
Step 4 - Save the Lesson
- Once the lesson details are correct, click the “Save Lesson” button.
- A lesson confirmation will appear, allowing you to choose between:
- Single Lesson: Adds a one-time lesson on the selected date.
- Standard Weekly Lesson: Adds the same lesson every week at the same time.
Step 5 - Finalize the Lesson Schedule
- If you selected "Yes" for a weekly lesson, you’ll be prompted to select the weeks for the lesson to occur.
- If you selected "No" for a single lesson, it will be added only on the selected date.
- Once saved, you’ll return to the scheduler where you can navigate to the next week or select a different pupil from the dropdown menu to continue scheduling.
