Shared Music Lesson Costs and Billing Reports

Modified on Thu, 13 Feb at 2:45 PM

Read the following information for details about shared music lesson costs and the corresponding billing reports.

Shared lessons are billed in the usual way for the teacher in that the "Cost to school" should only be billed once for the shared lesson.

When using the "Upfront Billing: Pupils" report (based on teachers and sessions, not lessons) the session will appear once for each pupil. This report is focused on pupils and the cost to the school is included for extra information. The "cost to the school" is therefore duplicated for each pupil linked to the session and teacher. Care needs to be taken therefore not to duplicate this value if this report is used for the teacher billing (not recommended).

Each pupil in the lessons will be billed the "Cost to pupil" value, so it is important that these figures are entered correctly for shared lessons. E.g. for a lesson with 2 pupils where the cost to the pupil is £12.50, each pupil will be billed that amount so the total billed for the lesson will be £25.

The billing report bills each pupil the amount entered and does not split the amount across the pupils included in the shared lesson.
